Sunnyside Live-Work

Sunnyside, California

Live-Work housing and a hotel lounge for low income artists replaced ground floor retail space in this 1909 building.

The renovation work included the removal of existing plaster furred walls, cutting new window openings, laying new flooring, and installing new kitchens, baths and mezzanines. A new heating system, fire sprinklers, electrical service and lighting was also added.

San Francisco Redevelopment Agency provided funding. Arthouse advised on design issues for artists and assisted with tenant placement.
