“The idea was to eliminate everything unnecessary, to make the whole as direct and simple as possible, but always with the beautiful as the final goal.”

Henry Greene, Greene & Greene Architects

We are always on the look-out for highly-skilled, well-organized architects and designers who are fully committed to making beautiful, healthy places. If this describes you and you are interested in working with Saikley Architects, we would like to hear from you.

OFFICE ENVIRONMENT: Our office is informal and collaborative. The work is efficiently fast-paced and rigorous. There is a lot of opportunity for growth and for being part of the growth of the firm, and for talented architects to take on a high level of responsibility in the firm. Everyone in the firm has a hand in design; production; detailing; construction administration; coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors; and business development. We are located in a bright, open office in Alameda near Park Street; we share this comfortable building and resources with Buestad Construction. We offer competitive salary and benefits. Our office culture and project types are such that work hours are reasonable and flexible. We work hard when we are here but over-working is discouraged.

We aim to embody Art Gensler’s Four Big Ideas in our practice:
Family, Sharing, Trust and Adding Value.

“Firm as Family is a unifying concept that brings together many of the principles.

The importance of Sharing: although “eat what you kill” may be an accepted norm, you shouldn’t do it that way.

Putting all dealing into the context of Building Trust, internally and with clients, is a concept that business literature rarely discusses but is key to success.

Adding Value is incredibly important. Providing only standard service will not create an organization of excellence.”

– Arthur Gensler, Art’s Principles: 50 Years of Hard-Learned Lessons in Building a World-Class Professional Services Firm
