BASEMENT ADDITION

The crawl space below the existing house was dug out to make a new floor of living space for a large family. Though the new space is well below grade, lightwells allow tall windows that let in plenty of light. Exterior stairs connect the new family room directly to the back yard. The design was kept simple and the project was completed within a modest budget.
